I grew up in the southern Sydney suburbs & I’ve always been pretty creative. Whether it was drawing, writing or playing guitar, growing up I could get lost for hours… and I still do when I give myself the time. I played in a band during a degree majoring in painting at Wollongong University, but when both ended, I left to travel the world & my camera came with me.
While travelling, I realised a camera was much more suited to me. I wandered through countries and soaked up cultures and languages. It made sense that as I travelled I turned my camera to bands and music. After a month assisting at The Scotsman newspaper in Edinburgh during the Fringe Festival in 2003 I was hooked.
… And so here I am. Back in Australia, living in Victoria, photographing & making films. I love what I do & each day become more fascinated by light, the creative process & how the human brain works, particularly in relation to creativity. Deep, I know… but seriously, it’s mind blowing!
Check out the work in my galleries to fill you in on my style, clients and where I’m at now. Follow my blog to read about processes, ideas and behind the scenes stuff. Join me on facebook or Instagram for bite sized updates if you’re not much of a reader. Either way, enjoy. And drop me a line if you want to know more…
In addition to photography, teaching makes me happy. Being able to share knowledge & watch that moment when people ‘get it’ is inspiring & keeps reminding me of why I fell in love with photography.
